UNIVERSITY of South Wales 4th are in the hunt for their first victory of the season as they welcome Aberystwyth 2nd to the Sport Park.

The home side have been on the wrong side of a massive score line after losing 2-90 against Cardiff Medics 8th and then losing 78-8 on their travels versus Hartpury 2nd.

USW’s opponents today have also not experienced much success so far this season; they got off to a strong start by beating Bristol 7th by a 37-26 scoreline, however, since then they have been knocked out of the Western Conference plate and have lost the rest of their matches.

When the south Wales based side travelled to the west coast, Aber came out as comfortable 94-3 victors.

Currently USW sit bottom of the Western 6B table behind Aberystwyth who are two places ahead and sit in 7th.

USW coach Megan Jones said that the side are now more eager to deliver their first win after their disappointing start to the season.

“The girls have put hard work into training this week, so hopefully that will reflect into today’s performance and gain our first win of the season.

“I know the girls are extremely hungry to win.”

USW have everybody available for selection for the visit of their Welsh opponents.

Centre-pass is at 14:00.
