Swansea City claimed a seventh home win in their last eight Championship games with a hard-fought victory against Bristol City.
Striker Zan Vipotnik grabbed the all-important goal, his 16th of the season, midway through the second half, to settle a tense affair.
Vipotnik volleyed home after a deep cross by Gustavo Nunes wasn’t cleared by the visitors.
The Swans deserved the three points, but both side missed many chances to score in a largely evenly-matched affair.
Vipotnik was slipped through on goal minutes into the game from a creative flick-on but was outpaced by Bristol’s Noah Eile as he bore down on goal.
Minutes after, Bristol’s Sinclair Armstrong hit the post from a seemingly impossible angle, with his shot going through the legs of Swans ‘keeper Lawrence Vigouroux.
Tensions remained high as Swansea went into the break 1-0 up.
Bristol got the first big chance of the second half as Armstrong set up Delano Burgzorg inside the box, but the shot was weak and was saved in the bottom right corner by Vigouroux.
Another huge chance for Bristol went begging in 77th minute as Emil Riss Jakobsen came close to a potential goal of the season, with a dramatic curling shot from the outside the corner of the box hitting the post.
The game remained end-to end but Swansea managed to come out on top with some incredible defending, climbing to 14th in the league.
