USW 3rds’ winless streak continued after a dominant performance from UWTSD condemned them to a crushing 69-13 defeat.
Standout displays from Maddie Williams and Emily Hopkins drove St Davids to a commanding victory, extending USW 3rds’ run of defeats to seven matches.
St Davids dominated the first quarter, with Maddie Williams netting five goals in under six minutes to establish an early 5-0 lead.
Despite Roxy Williams’ six goals for USW, Emily Hopkins’ impressive five-goal contribution secured St Davids a 15-7 advantage heading into the second quarter.
UWTSD’s fast, direct style of play completely nullified USW, leaving them scoreless in the second quarter. Complementing their defensive solidity with attacking flair, St Davids surged to a commanding 29-7 lead by half-time.
USW showed promise in the opening minutes of the third quarter, but they struggled to contain St David’s relentless attack. Fantastic combination between Emily Hopkins, Maddie Williams, and centre Cassy Rumbelow extended the visitors’ lead to 51-11, with the only goals for USW coming from substitute Chloe Evans.
St David’s maintained their dominance into the fourth quarter.
Captain Maddie Williams and vice-captain Nia Hill formed a remarkable attacking partnership that USW 3rds defence couldn’t handle, conceding 13 goals as the game ended in a crushing 69-13 scoreline.
USW 3rds will look to end their winless run in late January as they play USW 2nds at Sports Park. Meanwhile, UWTSD will host Royal Agricultural at UWTSD Sports Centre Carmarthen.
