GOALS from Millie Hodges, Erin Barry, Emma Bragg and Daisy Tudball were enough for Cardiff Met to take the win, despite a strong team performance from the home side.
Met started the match at a fast pace as their free-flowing passing game troubled the USW defence.
There was an early chance in the seventh minute for Met’s Millie Hodges who fired her shot inches wide of the post.
USW’s defence continued to stay resilient throughout the first half with some strong tackles and important blocks flying in from Katie Lewis.
But Met came out in the second half full of energy and it didn’t take them too long to break the deadlock.
With just three minutes on the clock, Hodges found space in the middle of the box and fired a well driven shot into the back of the net.
Soon after, the visitors increased their lead. Erin Parry latched onto a well driven cross from Hodges and tapped the ball into an empty net for 2-0.
Despite a number of USW chances Met wrapped the game up with just eight minutes of the second half gone.
After a brilliant solo run from Parry, Emma Bragg found the ball at the end of her stick and slotted the ball past the helpless USW keeper.
After a solid first half display from the home side’s defence it was apparent that the opening goal from Met had shaken them as the following three poured in within quick succession.
With 20 minutes left of the match Met sealed the victory with a brilliant team goal that was superbly finished off by Daisy Tudball.
Despite the 4-0 defeat, USW will take positives into their game next week against Bristol.
