USW coach Kath Morgan praised her players’ reaction as they bounced back from a derby day defeat last week but said consistency was key as they finished top of the league going into the Christmas break.
The home side came out as victors, with a 3-0 win against Bournemouth, who created several chances and were denied by the woodwork on more than one occasion.
Morgan said playing inside the barn at the USW Sport Park made a difference this week and praised the fantastic facilities as USW were pushed all the way despite the seemingly one-sided score line.
Despite the win taking USW top of the league, Morgan was keen to stress that her team need to improve.
“To be honest, we’re finding it quite difficult to be consistent, we’re either excellent for 20 mins and then poor, or vice versa.”
However, Morgan praised her team’s attitude: “We found a way to win in what was a very, very competitive game. There’s a lot at stake, we want to remain top of the league and that’s all that matters.”
USW will be looking to win their next three games after Christmas which will see them finish as champions.
