AFTER squeezing through the first round of the cup on penalties, University of South Wales will be hoping to stick to winning ways as they host Hartpury.

USW secured a win over south Wales rivals Swansea University 2nd to reach this stage, while Hartpury dispatched Cardiff University 4th.

The victory last time out for Callum McGarry’s side was a personal career highlight for the USW coach – who will be looking to complete an unlikely victory over a team three divisions their senior.

“We are hoping to pull off another upset tomorrow against another team three leagues above ourselves,” said McGarry.

“Winning last week on penalties against a team who are three leagues higher than us, was my favourite win of my four years of being involved with USW Football..

The progression through to the second round will be new territory for a number of the USW players, with the team failing to win their opening cup fixtures in the last two campaigns.

Hartpury, meanwhile, enjoyed better success last season by reaching the fourth round of the Western Conference Cup.

Kick-off is 3pm at the USW Sport Park.
