WALES forward Kayleigh Green has joined Brighton & Hove Albion Women from Yeovil Town Ladies on a one-year deal.

Green made 33 appearances for Yeovil after joining the club in 2016, and also enjoyed a loan spell with Italian outfit Chieti Calcio Femminile during her time with the Glovers.

The versatile defender has been utilised in a more attacking position by Wales Women’s manager Jayne Ludlow.

Green netted a late consolation in Yeovil’s 4-2 defeat against Brighton in the FA Women’s Super League Cup last season.

“I would just like to thank everyone at Yeovil Ladies. I’ve had an amazing 2 years at the club, thanks to all the staff, my team mates, and especially the fans for all your support, you’ve been incredible!” wrote Green on her official Twitter account.

The 30-year-old netted three goals in Wales’ last two World Cup qualifiers against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Russia.

Green made her 33rd appearance for her country last week and ensured Ludlow’s side returned to the top of their World Cup qualifying group by scoring a brace against Russia.

“We’re delighted to secure the services of Kayleigh, she’s a player we’ve tracked for a while and it’s great to welcome her to the club,” manager Hope Powell told the official Brighton website.
