USW 4ths Manager Josh Richardson labelled his team “really professional” after their 6-0 demolition of Gloucestershire 4ths.

Richardson’s side were at the top of their game, and easily saw off a valiant Gloucestershire side thanks to a stunning and clinical team display.

Richardson praised his team’s opening to the game, but also admitted that the early dismissal of Gloucester right-back Harry Ellard helped his team gain a real foothold in the game.

“The start was absolutely fantastic, and we set the tempo in the game,” said Richardson.

“The red card, can’t go unspoken, as obviously it was a very important part in the game.

“But we approached it really professionally, and the boys had listened to what we had practiced earlier in the week.”

Richardson also mentioned a fantastic moment in the game, where winger Gunay Cohan scored a penalty on his final appearance for his side.

“His parents from Cyprus came to watch and I think it was a great moment for him,” he added.

“Today was his final game before he starts an internship.

“He joined the team late but has come in and made such a good impact both on and off the pitch.”

The win means USW 4ths are now joint top of the Western Tier 6B division but now have a break for Christmas. They return to action on Wednesday 22nd January at home to Royal Agricultural College 1st team.
