USW Netball 1sts suffered their sixth consecutive loss of the season as UWE 1sts ran riot at the Sport Park.

Both teams showed skill and competitiveness throughout the first quarter, but UWE pulled ahead from that point.

USW started the game as they meant to go on with a very dominant first quarter performance, but despite that UWE got ahead on the scoreboard.

USW showed they can be defensively strong during the first, third and fourth quarters respectively, with Izzy Humphries, Jade Leonard, and Lauren Brown all continuously making essential blocks and interceptions.

However, UWE’s attacking pressure ensured that they led the game in points throughout all four quarters.

Despite the progress in defence, USW lacked potency when they pushed further up the court which led to them falling behind early on.

USW will want to keep up their defensive progress for the rematch with UWE in January in the hope of gaining their first win.
