USW men’s 4ths were dismantled by Gloucestershire men’s 3rds in a nine-goal thriller, as winger Cameron Ayre bagged a hat-trick.
It didn’t take Ayre long to make an impact as he slotted home his first within eight minutes.
He continued to cause problems for the USW defence, despite sending one clear-cut chance over the bar.
USW started to find their feet as defender Reece Baxter had a header saved by James Baynham.
After dominating possession, USW found an equaliser when a Jacob Iley free kick sailed through the Gloucestershire defence and past Baynham in goal for the equaliser.
The away side regained their advantage against the run of play as miscommunication in the USW defence led to striker Benjamin Areli scoring his first of the match.
Gloucestershire then took a stranglehold as they extended their lead with a well-timed header from Jasper Hudson from a corner.
USW heads were down at the break and minutes after the resumption Areli completed his brace to put the game to bed at 4-1.
Ayre soon got his second goal via a sublime pass from Baynham and Gloucestershire were in complete control.
USW failed to produce any chances in the second half with Gloucestershire extending their lead to seven with an effort from outside the area by Lawrence Mukono.
It looked as though USW were going to get their second goal when Abdul Maxammed had beaten the last defender, but the shot was well saved by Baynham.
Ayre completed his hat-trick in what was a stellar performance from the forward.
USW will look to forget this result and hope to get a positive reaction at Hartpury next week.
