Captain Floran Disco’s late penalty secured a thrilling draw for USW against Swansea University

Disco slotted the ball down the middle from the spot in the 90th minute to emerge as the hero for USW.

Swansea opened the scoring in the 10th minute after capitalising on a defensive error from USW’s Jack Spiers, whose misplaced pass allowed Dylan Ottey-Lewis to slot home the opener.

Swansea’s Zak Ellingham extended their lead just five minutes after the first goal, with a curling shot into the top right corner, leaving the USW keeper Sam Josey with no chance.

Just when it seemed USW might crumble, Spiers redeemed himself, rising to meet a free-kick floated into the box and guiding a well-placed header into the bottom left corner.

The defining moment came in the 90th minute when USW’s Saif Ratul was brought down in the box earning a penalty.

Captain Disco stepped up coolly and scored, sending the players into raptures.

Another chance came shortly after for Swansea but Disco put in a last-ditch slide-tackle to deny Swansea’s Ottey-Lewis, who seemed to be through on goal.

The game concluded with high tensions, as USW secured a hard-earned point.
