Brian Barry-Murphy said “key players” turned the game in Cardiff City’s favour against Huddersfield Town.

The Bluebirds boss highlighted goalscorers Yousef Salech (2) and Isaak Davies, as well as academy product Cian Ashford, for their contributions in a 3-2 win.

“We lost our composure around the hour mark, but Isaak Davies injected speed into the game,” said Barry-Murphy.

“We wrestled back into the game with really good periods when we found our creative players as much as possible.”

Barry-Murphy was pleased with Salech’s all-round game, as well as his goals.

“He was always in the box for crosses,” he said.

“Defensively, too he was excellent with tracking back and he did well at pressing the ball quickly and aggressively, which is so important this season.

“He’s a very dynamic, powerful player.”

When asked on what the main difference was between the two teams after Huddersfield’s first goal, he replied: “Cian Ashford’ and Isaak Davies were particularly dangerous.

“These key players changed the game.”
