USW endured a difficult afternoon at the Sport Park, falling to a heavy defeat against their local rivals.
The home side never threw in the towel, but were eventually undone by a Cardiff attack that made the most of the visitors’ superior all-round play.
In the 30th minute Olivia Secker opened the scoring for Cardiff after her team had already squandered five good chances.
The pattern remained the same after half-time and within minutes of the restart Holly Probert doubled Cardiff’s lead.
Dot Carr scored with a close-range finish 10 minutes later and Isabel Harrison finished off a fine attacking move a minute later to make it 4-0.
Cardiff continued to press on and within five minutes of the hour mark, goals came in quick succession from Emma Lewis and Probert.
Despite the score, the USW goalkeeper, Lily Clancy, produced numerous great blocks preventing the scoreline from being greater.
USW remain bottom of the table and are yet to secure any points.
They face Bristol University 5ths December 3.
