USW 3rds ran riot at the Sport Park to crush University of Gloucestershire 5ths in a Western Tier 6B clash.

Goals from Jake Hastings, Max Webb, Josh Loly and a brace from winger Saif Ratul saw them ease past the visiting side in an entertaining fixture.

USW settled into the match quickly but Gloucestershire’s number 10, Davies, had the first real chance when he found some space on the edge of the box and sent a shot just wide of the post.

USW then took control.

A move starting from a goal-kick saw Callum Buckle play a perfectly timed through ball in behind the defence.

It found winger Jake Hastings on the right side of the box, and he calmly placed his shot into the bottom-left corner to make it 1–0.

The home side doubled their lead after a mistake from the Gloucestershire goalkeeper, who came rushing out of his box and misjudged the situation. USW’s Max Webb reacted quickest and rolled the ball into the bottom left corner.

In the second half, USW continued to push forward. Winger Aido Magalhaes made a good run down the right and played a short pass into the box for striker Josh Loly, who finished well into the top-right corner.

Loly almost scored again shortly after, forcing the keeper into an impressive save that tipped his shot onto the bar.

Gloucestershire pulled one back when Davies struck a low shot into the bottom corner from the right-hand side of the box.

USW responded strongly.

Substitute winger Saif Ratul broke through one-on-one to make it 4–1.

Later, Ratul added his second of the game with a powerful shot into the bottom-left corner, rounding off the scoring for the home side.
