USW 3rds were thrashed by a high-quality Hartpury side at the Sport Park – despite taking the lead.
USW attacker Aido Magalhaes scored the first goal of the game in the 13th minute, but it proved to be something of false dawn.
When the ball was flicked on from a goal-kick leaving Magalhaes through on goal, he rounded the Hartpury ‘keeper and tapped it into the back of the net.
But the lead was short-lived.
Three minutes later Hartpury bit back when Hartpury midfielder Leo Goddard got on the end of a long ball to equalise.
Defender Troy Parfitt then scored the visitors’ second goal in the 23rd minute from a free-kick. Parfitt drove it low around the wall and found the bottom right corner leaving USW ‘keeper Sam Josey no chance.
Six minutes later Alfie Amos made it 1-3 with a well-taken volley which smashed into the top left corner following a pinpoint cross from deep from Spencer Crampton.
USW became frustrated and on the half-hour mark Aiden Jones was yellow-carded for a dangerous foul which prompted scuffles to break out.
USW never gave up in the second half, and did come close to reducing the deficit.
But Hartpury notched a further two goals to give the scoreline an emphatic feel.
In the 85th minute Crampton curled a free-kick up and over the wall which nestled into the top right corner to make it 1-4.
Then in the final movements of the game Charlie Hoffman tapped in a low cross.
