USW women’s football 1sts, BUCS champions last season, were comprehensively beaten 4-0 by a dominant Nottingham Trent University team,  in the Women’s National Championship.

USW were in trouble from minute one as Molly Thomas was brought down after confusion between goalkeeper and defender.
Thomas took the penalty and slotted calmly in to the bottom right corner past USW goalkeeper Charlie Noble.

Things went from bad to worse for the home side as they were 20 down in eight minutes.
After multiple chances to clear danger weren’t taken, Eliza Bedford calmly finished into the bottom corner.

Continued pressure by Nottingham was rewarded as they went 30 up in the 28th minute after Sarah Newton’s shot from 30 yards went in via the crossbar and the back of Noble.

Following some continued pressure down the left the away side were 40 up before half-time, after Ainsley Allan headed home from an easy chance.
Nottingham then saw the game home with some pressure to USW’s backline throughout the second half to make it a great victory for the away side.
USW’s season has now ended after a pretty poor season they will be looking to make the most of next season.
