USW 2nds fell to University of the West of England 3rds in an embarrassing 7-1 thrashing that saw Raphael Bojang score a hat-trick.
Bojang’s treble, a brace from Mubarak Suraj and a goal each from Chay Samuels and Matthew Shobbrook demolished USW as Finn Peacock scored the hosts’ solitary goal.
The game started quickly for UWE with them pressing USW from the off and creating chance after chance in the first quarter.
These chances finally brought a goal as Samuels lunged in the box to beat Dylan Pearce in the 16th minute.
USW had chances to get back into the game with Elliot Balchin-Love’s shot being saved after a good dribble, and Nojus Gorochovas’ free-kick hitting the wall from a dangerous position.
But in the 25th minute Bojang was played through and easily found the near corner of the net.
Just 14 minutes later Bojang was again found with a great through ball and made it 3-0.
USW found themselves helpless as UWE monopolised possession and soon it was Matthew Shobbrook who got on the end of a loose ball and made it 4-0.
In the second half it looked better for USW as the ball landed at Peacock’s feet after a scramble in the box and he volleyed home for a consolation in the 72nd minute.
USW’s hopes didn’t last long as Bojang made it 5-1 in the 74th minute with his hat-trick goal.
But UWE didn’t slow down there. Just four minutes later Suraj received the ball on the right side and slotted home.
Suraj made it 7-1 and that was where the humiliation for USW ended.
