USW claimed a share of the spoils at the Sport Park after their lead was cancelled out by a second half Swansea equaliser.
Goals from USW’s James Johnson and Swansea’s Thomas Penswick ensured USW earned their first point of the season.
The game started off quickly with both teams creating great chances, but USW’s Zac Price squandering the best one by putting his shot wide.
While there were more great chances at both ends, it was USW’s Johnson who broke the deadlock with a great finish at the back post in the 31st minute.
It meant a 1-0 half-time lead for the home side who at that stage looked likely to take the win.
USW came close to getting a second early in the second half, but a scramble in the box denied them.
The, just three minutes later, Penswick was found at the back post and snatched the equaliser for Swansea.
With Swansea getting a momentum boost they wanted to find a winner and came close with a short corner which was blocked.
But USW’s John Lowrie also had two great chances saved from short corners.
Neither side could find a winner and USW will now host Cardiff’s 3rd team and look to continue getting points and climbing up the table.
