USW netball won the Aldi Western Tier 3B title and secured promotion with a superb display against Swansea University 2nds.

Their sixth win of a fine season was enough to guarantee them the honours with their opponents the only ones who could have denied them.

An outstanding first quarter display from USW saw them take an 11-5 lead, after some excellent scoring from Faith Sulway.

While Clara Hackett reduced the damage for the away side with some accurate shooting it was not enough for Swansea to turn things around.

USW defender Molly Care effortlessly controlled the court as the second quarter began, setting up Sulway on a handful of occasions and causing a major headache for Swansea defender Rianna Parry. S

Swansea did enjoy a good chunk of possession in the latter stages of the second quarter with Hackett’s accuracy hauling them back to just 20-14 behind.

The third quarter saw Sarah Cole and Sulway linking up continuously for the hosts, scoring six times within just a few minutes to take the lead to 26-18.

USW midfielder Cerys Bush proved to be the difference for the two sides in this quarter however, sweeping up numerous loose balls and enabling her side to lead 30-23.

Superior fitness and Sulway’s quality saw USW comfortably home in the final quarter to mark a memorable win.
