FOUR times Welsh Open champion Ronnie O’Sullivan eased his way into the third round against his good friend Jimmy White in a battle of the legends.
Ronnie O’Sullivan increased his head to head record against Jimmy White to 32 wins to White’s 9 after his 4-0 win in the second round of the Welsh Open.
After a scrappy opening two frames, it was a comfortable win in the end for Ronnie O’Sullivan as he won the last two frames with a break of 70 and 65.
Frame 1
In a tense opening frame, Ronnie O’Sullivan took the first frame after a long back and forth encounter.
Jimmy White was leading the way for most of the frame, but one poor error from White as he misses the green aloud O’Sullivan to get back into the frame and win after he knocked in the colours to take the opening frame.
Frame 2
O’Sullivan led the way in the second frame as he had a lead of 30- 10. A shocker from the three time world champion, White misses a simple red as he tried to stretch over the table but miss hits the red and aloud O’Sullivan to increase his lead.
The second frame is similar to the first as O’Sullivan knocked in a long green and is able to hold for the brown to claim the second frame.
The overall feeling of the opening two frames is that it’s a scrappy affair, but it went the way of O’Sullivan.

Two uncharacteristically scrappy frames so far but both have gone the way of O’Sullivan as he doubles his lead. #WelshOpen pic.twitter.com/Nijl7szpWc

Frame 3
Despite White taking the early lead, it was O’Sullivan who claimed his third Frame after a break of 70. This was more like The Rocket we know and love.
Frame 4
O’Sullivan closes out the frame with a break of 65 and closes out the match winning 4-0 and progresses to the third round, but it is a performance to forget for the Whirlwind as White highest break in the match was 20.
