CARDIFF City play host to Birmingham City at Cardiff City Stadium in search of their first win in four matches.

The Bluebirds go into the fixture after falling to a 1-0 defeat away at south Wales rivals Swansea City on Sunday.

The visitors make the journey down the M5 to Cardiff on the back of two successive victories at St. Andrew’s whilst Cardiff are winless since running out 3-0 winners over QPR at the beginning of October.

Andrew Madley will officiate the game after taking charge of Brighton’s 3-2 win over Everton last weekend in a game which saw lots of VAR controversy.

Neil Warnock’s men will be looking to right their wrongs in terms of the trudged performance the Bluebirds put in at Liberty Stadium last time out.

Warnock revealed that his side will, however, be without some key players for the clash.

“Birmingham play a style that is very difficult to break down. It’ll be a test for us,” Warnock said.

“Curtis Nelson has been unlucky really, and Sol Bamba is getting back to fitness. We were always told November with him. Monday’s game did him a world of good.

“Jazz Richards also played Monday, but he’s a little way off currently. He works so hard in rehab and has been disappointed to have so many setbacks.

“There isn’t much light at the moment with Lee Tomlin. He hasn’t trained for the best part of ten days. I’ll know more today.

“Junior Hoilett still has a little bit of fluid in the area but there is no tear. Hopefully another couple of days will bring him back into contention.

“Robert Glatzel is out for a couple of weeks with a hamstring injury. He’s had some tough luck so far. The rest will hopefully do him some good.

“People have got to stand up and be counted. We’ve just got to get on with it as a squad.”
