MIKE Armiger is an educator, trainer, speaker, rugby coach, and is passionate about mental health, due to what he calls his own ‘lived experiences’.
In a sporting role Mike is currently coaching at university-level with a strong focus on developing routine inquiry, screening and support systems around mental health for players.
This work is spreading into the wider student community. As part of his commitment to mental health, he often trains coaches and members of sporting organisations in mental health awareness.
As well as actively campaigning for reform, he regularly organises and speaks at events focusing on young people’s mental health and well being.
Mike is currently working on new projects and systems directed at keeping children mentally well within educational and sporting settings. This work also extends to suicide awareness and prevention.
